Types of Auditions
There are various types of auditions and they are listed below here.
Open Audition / Casting Calls:
Anyone can attend this type of audition. If the audition is advertised on television or radio then there will be a large amount of people to attend the audition. But if the audition is advertised in a local newspaper then there will be fewer amounts of people to attend the audition. Usually there will be a long wait because on the popularity of the production.
Private Audition:
Private audition is one in which you are given a specific date, location and time to attend. All cannot attend this type of audition. Only who knows the time, date and location can attend the private audition.
Recall Audition:
In this type of audition, they can call you back at any time since you have been short listed for the production. For example if there are 50 people, then they call back 5 people and if you are one among the 5 people called back then this type of audition is called as recall audition. Sometimes you can be recalled several times for the audition.
Screen Test Audition:
A screen test is one in which you are asked to learn some short part of the script and then you are asked to perform on the screen. Sometimes the final decision makers are present and they will ask you to perform on the screen and they analyze how you look on the camera. In some situations the final decision makers are not present and so they will send a copy of your performance to watch on the tape then they finalize you.
